Ever do a campaign for truck drivers?

Neither had I till I got the assignment to do a series of ads for truckers to remind them to stop at a Texaco truck stop for great accommodations and excellent service.

Each ad reflected the local color of the truck stop’s location.

Bell Atlantic was duking it out with other phone carriers in Pennsylvania over proposed legislation, much of which would not be in Bell Atlantic’s best interests.

The target audience was the lawmakers who whould vote on the bills in state legislature.

These ads were created to counter ads created by “advocacy” groups that advertised less-than-accurate information about Bell Atlantic’s practices.

The target audiences were legislators, judges, state regulators and the governor of Pennsylvania.

Different and interesting work.

This ad was a response to other carriers’ ads tempting customers to switch from Verizon with offers that sounded too good to be true.

This public service ad for the American Cancer Society was an appeal to remember the Society in your will. The suggested statement was a little under 25 words.

After a week of noodling – ta-dah! – the headline finally came.

There was a time when young men were drafted into the service. The Army wasn’t looking for high school drop outs so they encouraged would-be’s to stay in school

This ad was meant to soothe the worries of parents whose sons were drafted. Although it was scheduled to run, it was pulled because some thought the fact shown was a little too bald.
